At a time when film sequels are ruling the box office in India, Sushmita Sen is keen to revisit one of her own blockbusters.
The actress, who is currently earning rave reviews for her role in the web series ‘Taali’, shared her excitement to return to the big screen as one of her iconic and beloved characters. Interestingly, she picked Chandni Chopra, from the 2004 film ‘Main Hoon Na‘ starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
In an interview with India Today, Sushmita shared that she felt it was ‘about time’ that director Farah Khan made a sequel to the hit film. When she was asked about possibly initiating a petition to get the film on floors, she revealed that such requests were already made to SRK and Farha. She said to the portal, “They have tried. They went to Farah, SRK and then me. I am like ‘Go back to Farah, ask her!’ It will be exciting.”On the work front, Shah Ruk Khan is busy with a long list of films. He has Jawan that is gearing up for its release on September 7. The actor is also set to star in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki that is slated for a December release. The actor is also set to feature in a cameo in Salman Khan’s upcoming spy film ‘Tiger 3’ and later lock horns with the star in ‘Tiger vs Pathaan’ that is scheduled to go on floors in 2024. An official confirmation on the same is still awaited.
Meanwhile, the other sequels raking in the big bucks at the box office include Gadar 2 and OMG 2. The Sunny Deol starrer that saw him returning to the big screen as Tara Singh, is on its way to the Rs 500 crore mark at the Indian box office. Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, on the other hand also earned over Rs 150 crore. Both films released on the same weekend and shared business with Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
