According to box office data, the movie raked in an estimated Rs 1.05 Crore nett on its opening day. However, the real surge came on its second day as collections doubled, reaching around Rs 2.25 Crore nett for all languages, state early estimates on Sacnilk.com.This significant boost in revenue is attributed to the film’s positive word of mouth and good reviews from critics.
With an overall Hindi occupancy of 25.30% on Saturday, ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ witnessed the highest attendance during evening and night screenings, indicating growing interest among audiences.
The cumulative box office earnings for the film now stands at an estimated Rs 3.30 Crore, marking a promising trajectory for its commercial success.
Directed by Randeep Hooda himself, the film features him in the lead role portraying the iconic freedom fighter. Made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 Crore, the project also stars Ankita Lokhande, who reportedly opted out of charging any fees for her role as a gesture of support for the film’s producer, Sandeep Singh.
In an interview with IANS, Lokhande revealed why she opted out of a fee sying, “Because Sandeep Singh came to me with the film. He is my very dear friend and there were a lot of things going on. Sandeep was already into a lot where he was looking for finance for the film and I was there for him.”
