A woman has captured the terrifying moment a huge bull shark swam past her private jetty in Sydney’s south.
Brooke Van Ryan videoed the incredible moment when the huge predator cruised just metres from her and neighbouring moorings near the popular Gymea Bay baths on Sunday.
“The bull shark was just casually lurking around our private jetty chasing some bream,” she told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Thankfully, it seemed uninterested in the couple of people who were waterskiing not far off the jetty.”
After swimming around the shallows for a while, the shark is then seen swimming back out to the main waterway.
Many locals shared their fear over the footage, and warned others to keep an eye out.
“Yikes,” one person said.
“The ones you see aren’t the ones to worry about,” another said.
The footage comes just a few months after Sydneysider Lauren O’Neill survived being bitten by what is believed to be a bull shark while she was swimming near a jetty at Elizabeth Bay, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, in January.
It was the first recorded shark attack in Sydney Harbour in more than a decade.
At the time O’Neill thanked her “heroic and very kind neighbours” for the critical assistance they quickly provided.
The attack prompted debate over anti-shark measures amid concerns warmer waters are attracting more bull sharks to the harbour.
