Tata Motors says that this new engine is developed using lightweight yet rigid aluminium for improved stiffness.It will aid feature variable valve timing technology with a variable oil pump and an integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head. It will also get variable geometry turbocharger and Tata claims that the engine will deliver better torque from lower in the rev range.
Talking about the engine, it’s a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, direct injection turbo-petrol engine displacing 1,198cc. It puts out 125hp of power at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of torque between 1,700 and 3,500rpm. The engine is BS6 Phase 2- and E20 fuel-compliant and comes paired with a manual or a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
This new Hyperion engine is expected to be offered in the high-end variants of the Curvv while lower variants could be offered with the existing 1.2-litre Revotron engine turbo petrol engine. Another engine on offer will be the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine with 115hp, 260Nm. Both engine already does the duty in the Nexon and will be offered with a manual, AMT or DCT gearbox.

In terms of design, the Curvv features a bold front end with an LED lightbar spanning across the width. It also gets a strong shoulder line with flared wheel arches which gives it a strong presence. At the sides, it gets flush door handles with a sloping roof line that blends into a short tail section. A few highlights include a rooftop-mounted spoiler, connected LED taillights, a diffuser and much more.
In terms of features, the Curvv will get a floating touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, touch-based climate control panel, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, connected car tech, ADAS and much more.
