The homegrown manufacturer sold 53,539 passenger vehicles in India in November 2023, helping it secure a market share of 14.85%. In contrast, Hyundai Motor India sold 49,716 units, ending the month with a market share of 13.79%. Meanwhile Maruti Suzuki’s sale of 1,49,929 cars helped grow its market share from 40.76% in November last year to 41.60% in November 2023.

Mahindra & Mahindra occupied the fourth spot with 38,933 passenger vehicles sold in the month for a 10.80% market share. Korean carmaker Kia sits on fifth with a sale of 19,885 units and a 5.52% market share, while Toyota emerged as the sixth top-selling carmaker with 16,567 units sold for a 4.60% market share. Skoda Auto Volkswagen Group, MG Motor and Renault rounded up the top 10.
The Indian two-wheeler market also recorded its highest ever sales in the same month with a total sale of 22.47 lakh units, registering a massive month-on-month growth of 49%! The festive season and the launch of new models are considered to be behind the growth in sales numbers. However, FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India) warns that a dip in vehicle sales might be on its way considering various factors including an anticipated inflation.
