Tata Motors sold a total of 14,916 units last month.With this Nexon, once again, took the top spot. The MoM figure did drop by over -1.50 per cent. It was closely followed by theMaruti Suzuki Brezza at 13,393 units securing second place. The Hyundai Venue secured third place on the list with 11,180 units. Kia India sold a total of 6,433 units of Sonet. Mahindra Auto sold a total of 4,673 units of Mahindra XUV 300 and it was followed by Nissan Magnite (2,454 units) and Renault Kiger (530 units).

So what are the factors that made the new Tata Nexon facelift the highest-selling SUV? The new Tata Nexon facelift features a futuristic design language and the Nexon is one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in the segment, taking on the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
The Nexon also comes loaded with features, it gets a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster with a navigation display, a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a voice-assisted sunroof, touch-based HVAC controls, LED headlights with sequential LED DRLs and indicators and much more. In terms of safety features, it gets six airbags as standard across the range, ESC, three-point seat belts for all passengers, ISOFIX as well as emergency and breakdown call assist.

The Nexon is also offered with multiple powertrain options – a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and, a 1.5-litre turbo diesel and it also gets an all-electric variant dubbed Nexon.ev. Gearbox options for the ICE variants include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, 5-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters.
The Nexon.ev gets two variants – MR and LR. The MR gets a 30kWh battery pack with a 325 Km range (claimed). The LR gets a larger 40.5kWh battery with 465 Km (claimed) in one full charge. The MR puts out 129hp of power and 215Nm of torque whereas the LR produces 145hp and 215Nm.
