Taylor Swift’s Reaction to Being Made Santa Clara Mayor at Levi’s Concert

Santa Clara City officials rolled out the red carpet for Taylor Swift, temporarily renaming the city “Swiftie Clara” and making her honorary mayor in recognition of the singer-songwriter’s two sold-out shows at Levi’s Stadium.

The pop star commented about both of those things during the second show on Saturday (July 29) as she sat at her faux-moss-covered piano partway through her mammoth, curfew-busting 45-song show that ran just shy of 3½ hours. (Read our full review of Night 1 here.)

She spoke about how people will tell her about some of the articles written about her on the internet, including some that are particularly cool.

“They will tell me about some of the cool ones and they will be like, ‘Hey, did you know that they changed Santa Clara to Swiftie Clara?’” Swift is shown saying in videos shared over social media. “For two days.”

Then Swift went on to address her appointment as honorary mayor.

“And then they were also like, ‘You know, they made you the mayor,’” she said. “So sick. So sick.”
