Best Original Song Oscar nominee Tems, who infamously wore a sky-high collared white dress to Sunday night’s Academy Awards, blocking the view of those sitting behind her, has playfully responded to the clothing brou-ha-ha.
“Oops,” the 27-year-old Grammy winner from Nigeria wrote on Twitter with a series of images of her controversial dress.

Over on Instagram, Tems wrote: “Uh Ohh!” with even more images from that night.

One thing is for sure.
Now everybody knows who Tems is and her designer, Lever Couture from Ukraine, has also made a splash with the dress that featured a sculptured halo above her head.
On show night, however, she inspired hundreds of funny memes and was criticized in some quarters for wearing the view-obstructing gown.
Even actor Mark Hamill chimed in: “With my luck, I’d get Oscar tickets, then be seated directly behind the woman wearing that gigantic white veil.”

“Imagine waiting your whole life to be at the Oscars and you end up sitting behind a stratus cloud,” another person tweeted.
“Who has to sit behind that woman with the white veil,” another asked, calling Tems “rude.”
Over on Instagram, Tems had a lot more support.
“You’re way up there and I’m happy you been knew it,” one person wrote.
“Your view is the only view that matters,” one more added.
Tems admitted to Harper’s Bazaar that her Oscars look was “outside the box.”
“Two years ago, I would’ve said no to this dress. But it’s my first Oscars — I am going to go all out. I really wanted to make the most of the day,” she said.
“The dress is also my way of celebrating my work and the people around me, celebrating my country, and celebrating the people that are rooting for me. This dress says ‘Yes, yes, I am here!’”
