Terri Irwin has made a rare acknowledgement of her love life and addressed an ongoing rumour.
Steve Irwin’s widow spoke about whether she had been dating actor Russell Crowe in the years following her husband’s death in 2006, as she chatted on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM beside son Robert Irwin.

The exchange began when shock jock Kyle Sandilands jumped straight into personal details by asking Irwin: “Who are you having sex with?”
He followed it up by asking about Crowe, to which Irwin said: “I have a lot of quiet evenings with a nice, big, juicy pizza.”
Irwin’s son then jumped in, teasing, “Mum has been linked to something like 30 people”.
“I mean, it was King Charles, it was Russell, it was everyone.
“It’s all absolute nonsense mate!”
Terri Irwin has not publicly dated anyone since her husband died at 44, when a stingray barb pierced his chest as he was filming an underwater documentary on The Great Barrier Reef on September 4, 2006.
Gladiator star Crowe has been a long-time supporter of their family’s zoo and fuelled romance rumours by speaking fondly of Irwin in an interview.
“Terri is one of the greatest women I’ve ever met in my life, without there being implication of intimacy or whatever,” he said.
“You know I do love Terri Irwin, I love her kids and I love how she’s kept the memory of Steve alive, and respected the work that the two of them had begun and she’s an absolute champion.”
In 2021 Irwin came out to deny the rumours she was linked to Crowe, calling him a “true friend”.
“In all honesty (Crowe) and Steve became friends many years ago, and after Steve passed, you find out who your true friends are.
“And Russell has been very loyal as a great friend.”
On February 22, Irwin, and her two children Bindi, and Robert paid tribute to Steve on what would have been his 62nd birthday.
Robert shared a video about his father’s love of a particular Honda motorbike.
The video contained photos and footage of Steve on his beloved bike, which Robert is now looking after.
“Some of my fondest and earliest memories were on that bike and after Dad passed away the bike sat sitting for quite some time,” Irwin said in his post.
“But I got it back up and running recently and now it’s my job to get the motorbike started of a morning and do the same park checks around Australia Zoo.
“Every time I get on that bike and ride the same route around Australia Zoo that he did, it means so much that this piece of machinery that he loved and used every day keeps on running.”
Across on Bindi’s Instagram, the 25-year-old noted the legacy her dad left.
“Happy Birthday, Dad. Your legacy will live on forever,” she wrote, sharing a carousel of photos.
Meanwhile Terri shared a video of Steve doing all the things that made him famous — handling snakes, hanging out with crocs, and talking enthusiastically about wildlife.
“Happy Birthday! Missing my Action Man,” Terri wrote.
