Kate Middleton is expected to be staying up past midnight this week to follow an adorable royal tradition.
The Duchess of Cambridge will likely be making a cake to mark her son Prince George’s eighth birthday on Thursday July 22.
The mum of three revealed in 2019 that every year she waits until George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis go to bed, and then begins her annual mission of baking them her own birthday cake.
“It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ‘til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much,” she revealed to British baking legend Mary Berry on TV special A Berry Royal Christmas.
“But I love it,” she added.
Kate is also expected to follow another royal tradition by releasing a new photograph of George on his birthday.
Every year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge mark their children’s birthdays by releasing adorable pictures as they turn a year older.
The photos are usually causal in nature and are taken by the Duchess, who is a keen photographer.
