Mumbai, July 11: The current Indian cricket team is full of young talented players. Former India cricketer Suresh Raina has also been impressed by the performance of these players. Some young players have secured their place in Team India. Some are ready to play Test series in England and some are ready for ODI and T20 series in Sri Lanka.
Raina was going through the same situation 15 years ago. The Uttar Pradesh batsman made his debut for India when he was just 18 years old. After this, Raina became a key player in Team India’s middle order. In an interview to a channel, Raina named three players who impressed him. Raina’s list includes Devdutt Padikkal of Karnataka and Ruturaj Gaikwad of Maharashtra. Apart from this, Raina also took the name of Akshar Patel. In the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, Jadeja performed brilliantly, Raina said.
When asked about Rishabh Pant, Raina said that he has joined the ranks of senior players. ‘Rishabh Pant has grown up. He is now hitting not only sixes but also fours, ‘said Raina. He also lauded Rahul Dravid for his contribution to junior cricket. Mohammad Siraj is bowling so well, the credit goes to Rahul Dravid. “Dravid worked hard with the under-19 team, which is why he is now with the senior team,” Raina said.
While congratulating Shikhar Dhawan, Raina expressed his desire to return to the Test team. “Dhawan should come back to the Test team because he is a big player,” Raina said.
Uttar Pradesh’s Priyam Garg, Karna Sharma, Punjab’s Abhishek Sharma have done well and Sachin Baby is also working hard, but it is unfortunate that he was not selected in the Indian team, Raina said.
