The robot belongs to Recovery North West towing which is based in Liverpool.

The company’s Instagram page has images of the robot – officially called the Eastract – taking vehicles out of car parks and even picking up a Ford Mustang Mach-E and Porsche Taycan off the street.

The robot uses tank tracks to assist in tight spaces and to make sharp turns.

According to Multitract – responsible for manufacturing the robot – the vehicle has a 2.5-tonne payload which allows it to pick up heavy SUVs like an Audi Q7.

The robot has a maximum speed of 4.5km/h and produces 20kW of power.

The French manufacturer’s website says the robot is controlled by radio command, meaning an operator will need to be close by to deploy the machinery.

If you look closely on the right-hand side of the video there is a parking officer controlling the robot in the video.
