The bike, which borrows its design cues from the larger Thruxton1200, will be based on Speed 400’s platform and will likely be christened as the Thruxton 400.However, the small-capacity Thruxton gets a vintage-looking, curved cowl, a round headlight, and low-set clip-on handlebars. As seen in the images, the motorcycle has very close resemblance to its roadster sibling and gets several unchanged components such as the upswept exhaust, wheels, suspension setup, brakes. Thus, it will be sharing the same chassis as its stablemate.

We can expect the manufacturer to employ the same 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Speed 400. This engine produces 40 hp and 37.5 Nm of peak torque for the Speed but for the Thruxton, it is likely to get a different state of tune to suit the character of the cafe racer.
At present, Triumph offers the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 in the mid-capacity segment in India, priced at Rs 2.33 lakh and Rs 2.63 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom. As of now, there’s no further information available on the model except for the images captured by AutoStreet, but we can expect the company to launch the model by mid-next year as the motorcycle appears to be in a production ready form.
