TVS Motor Company plans to broaden its electric two-wheeler range within the next year, aiming to address diverse customer segments, as revealed by a top official. The Chennai-based company, currently offering two e-scooters, also has intentions to expand its electric vehicle sales infrastructure and is in the process of developing an electric three-wheeler, reported PTI.
During an analyst call, TVS Motor Company Director and CEO K N Radhakrishnan shared, “We are also planning to launch a series of products in the range of 5 to 25 kilowatts in the next year.” With a robust market demand, the production capacity of the electric scooter iQube has been increased to 25,000 units per month, with further enhancements planned.
TVS is set to begin sales of its new electric scooter, TVS X, in the current quarter. Radhakrishnan mentioned that the company has nearly 400 touchpoints for e-scooters, continually expanding this network. Confident in their product lineup and infrastructure improvements, Radhakrishnan stated, “With the product lineup planned from TVS and continuous improvement in infrastructure, we are confident that we will continue to be a strong player in the EV segment.”
Regarding exports, Radhakrishnan expects the iQube to be available in many markets in the next two to three quarters and aims to extend its presence to Europe eventually. He outlined a clear strategy for global expansion and emphasized TVS X’s pivotal role in both domestic and international markets.
