Two Indian Americans, Masood Akhtar and Kamaljit Kaur Jackson, Named to Wisconsin Green Ribbon Commission

Masood Akhtar and Kamaljit Kaur Jackson, Indian Americans, have been appointed to the Wisconsin Green Ribbon Commission by Governor Tony Evers. This commission was formed in April to provide guidance on the state’s Green Innovation Fund, which is Wisconsin’s first environmental and clean energy fund.

Masood Akhtar is the founder of CleanTech Partners and has a strong background in the energy sector. He has received numerous awards for his work in promoting energy efficiency and has testified before a US Congressional committee. Kamaljit Kaur Jackson is the vice president of programs and operations for the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation. She has experience in various sectors and holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

Governor Evers stated that the commission will play a crucial role in the development of the Green Innovation Fund and the advancement of clean energy industries in Wisconsin. This fund and the commission are part of the state’s goal to achieve 100% carbon-free electricity consumption by 2050.
