Investment in medical education and research
The government is set to establish more medical colleges, utilising existing hospital infrastructure. A committee will be formed to examine current challenges and provide recommendations for the smooth implementation of this plan. Additionally, the budget allocates resources for the establishment of nursing colleges co-located with recently established medical colleges.
Selected ICMR Labs will now be available for collaboration with faculty from public and private medical colleges as well as the private sector in an effort to improve medical research.
