SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Happy Monday and happy April! We are tracking some unsettled weather this evening and overnight as the potential for strong to severe storms affects portions of the ArkLaTex. Storms will move in late with the potential of producing large hail and strong wind, mainly in the northwest portion of the region. Those two mentioned severe risks are the main threat factors with the threat of tornadoes being quite low but not zero. Storms look to begin between 7 and 9 PM and continue after midnight with most storms finishing up around 4 or 5 AM. Again, most of the severe risk lies in the northwest portions of the region.
For Tuesday, we’ll start off with scattered showers and storms as the cold front slowly pushes east. By afternoon, everything will be out of here with skies rapidly clearing. A gusty west wind will allow cooler and drier air to arrive with highs in the 70s.
The rest of the week is looking gorgeous with plenty of sunshine each day, low humidity, and highs in the low to mid-70s through Friday. Overnights will run a bit chilly with lows each night in the 40s. Looking ahead to the weekend, clouds will be on the increase along with temperatures as a south wind develops. Highs will reach into the middle and upper 70s.
