In an extremely bizarre incident, a Kansas man killed his wife and then, used her insurance money to buy a life-size sex doll, two days after receiving that payout. The man has been found guilty for murder almost four years after the incident.
New Delhi: A man in Hays, Kansas, Colby Trickle has been found guilty of murdering his wife Kristen Trickle almost four years after the incident. What’s more shocking than the murder, is that the man used a major part of the insurance money of his wife, to buy a life-size sex doll, just two days after the insurance payout was received. While during the initial investigation Colby Trickle was let go and wasn’t charged of murder but years later, a jury has pronounced him guilty in November 2023, and has been sent to prison without any possibility of parole for 50 years. US Man Kills Wife, Uses Her Insurance Money To Buy Sex Doll
As mentioned earlier, Kansas man Colby Trickle has been charged with his wife’s murder and what has caught more attention than the murder itself, is the fact that he has used his wife’s insurance money to buy a life-size sex doll, just two days after receiving the buyout. The man spent almost $2,000 (Rs 1,66,805) on this life-size sex doll and during trial, his mother took stand as a defence witness and said that he bought the doll for warmth and comfort which was missing after his wife’s death.
While around $2000 were spent by Colby Trickle on the life-size sex doll, it has also been reported that Colby had cashed in on two insurance policies of his wife which totaled up to over $1,20,000 (over Rs 1 crore). In a conversation with CBS News, Detective Joshua ‘JB’ Burkholder had said, “There’s a mourning process that I think everyone needs to go through — should go through when a loved one dies — and to have him ordering this type of doll just months after his wife’s death was concerning.” Kristen Trickle’s aunt was also shocked with this move of Colby and had said, “I was just appalled that he would use Kristen’s life insurance money for a sex doll. It just was like he bought a replacement of her with her money.”
Colby Trickle And Murder Trial
The case opened when according to a CBS News report, Colby Trickle called 911 in 2019 saying that his wife, 26-year-old Kristen Trickle has shot herself in their home. While Sergeant Brandon Hauptman of Hays Police Department suspected that Colby was involved in his wife’s death but three days later, Kristen Trickle’s death was declared suicide. Even though Colby Trickle was let go, investigating officers continued working on the case. Years later, Colby Trickle was charged with first degree murder and interfering with law enforcement. The jury sentenced him to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 50 years.
