ETimes reached out to Vedika Nawani, the actress in ‘OMG 2’ who portrays a friend of Kanti Mudgal’s teenage son (played by Pankaj Tripathi) in the film.
Talking about the film’s controversy, she stated, “Controversy was expected given its subject. However, I am very excited about the film as it carries a positive message.”
The film delves into the topic of sex education in schools, which made Vedika recall her first encounter with the subject during her school days. She shared, “I was in secondary school, and we had a biology chapter about reproductive organs. I was surprised, shocked, and felt a bit shy and different about it.”
Vedika also discussed the film’s exploration of the menstrual cycle. She mentioned, “OMG 2 also addresses the subject of the menstrual cycle. However, the scene is tastefully presented, so I didn’t feel awkward about the topic during filming. All my co-actors made me feel comfortable and at ease with it.”
Masturbation is another topic addressed in the film, which also stars Arun Govil, Govind Namdeo, and Yami Gautam in significant roles.
Although the film is scheduled for release on August 11, the numerous changes suggested by the CBFC make it challenging for the makers to meet the deadline. However, one of the producers, Ashwin Varde, confirmed to ETimes that the film will indeed be released on the specified date, August 11.
