Verstappen secures fourth win of F1 season in Chinese Grand Prix

Max Verstappen extended his winning streak by clinching victory at the Chinese Grand Prix, securing his fourth win out of five races this season.
Driving for Red Bull Racing, Verstappen took the lead from the start of the race, while Fernando Alonso briefly surged ahead of Sergio Perez to claim second position at Turn 1. However, Alonso lost ground as the race progressed.
Verstappen maintained control throughout the strategically intense race at the Shanghai International Circuit, which saw a Virtual Safety Car and two full Safety Car interventions.Despite the unfolding drama behind him, the Dutch driver remained composed at the forefront.
Midway through the race, a Safety Car was deployed due to Valtteri Bottas experiencing a mechanical issue and retiring from the track. A flurry of pit stops shuffled the order slightly, but Verstappen retained his lead. Meanwhile, further back in the pack, multiple incidents kept the action alive after the restart.
Undeterred by the chaos behind him, Verstappen secured his fourth race win of the season, with an impressive second place taken by Lando Norris of McLaren. Perez completed the podium for Red Bull in third position.
Charles Leclerc led the Ferrari team with a fourth-place finish, followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz in fifth, and George Russell driving for Mercedes in sixth. Alonso claimed seventh position, while Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton, who climbed from 18th on the grid, finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
Despite facing challenges during qualifying and early laps due to tyre-related issues, Hamilton showcased his skill by maneuvering through the field and securing a top-ten finish. Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg rounded off the top ten by claiming the final championship point. (Inputs from IANS)
