Victoria COVID-19 exposure sites expand again to include Coles supermarket and Village Cinemas

A Coles supermarket, a movie screening and a suburban gym are among the latest Victorian venues to be listed as Tier-1 COVID-19 exposure sites.

The Department of Health updated the list throughout Friday afternoon, the first day of a statewide five-day lockdown, and just hours after the state recorded 10 new locally acquired infections.

Anyone who visited the venues must get tested and isolate for 14-days, regardless of the result.

There are now 24 cases associated with the outbreak, which originated in NSW.

Premier Daniel Andrews said while the state was dealing with more than 140 exposure sites, with 1500 primary close contacts and 5000 secondary contacts self-isolating, he was adamant Victoria will “crush” the outbreak.

“I am absolutely certain that Victorians will rise to the challenge as we have done before. We will get ahead of this,” Andrews said.

The rules applied during last month’s lockdown were reimposed overnight, including the five reasons to leave home, a 5km travel limit for exercise and shopping and compulsory mask-wearing indoors and outdoors.
