Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra‘s recent release 12th Fail starring Vikrant Massey is garnering a lot of praise from fans and Bollywood stars alike. After Hrithik Roshan, Urmila Matondkar, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt among several others, Vicky Kaushal has now heaped praise on the team.
On Sunday, Vicky took to his Instagram stories to express his heartfelt admiration for 12th Fail and labeled it as the best film of the year.”Speechless! Bohat roya par dil khush ho gya. The best film, the best performance, and the best story of the year. What a cinematic triumph! @vidhuvinodchoprafilms I tip my hat off to you Sir,” he wrote.
Vicky also expressed his admiration for Vikrant’s acting prowess and conveyed his eagerness to meet him soon, writing, “jald hi milkar gale lagna hai (need to meet you soon and give you a hug). Such an inspiring performance.” He also extended his appreciation to Medha Shankr, praising her as “absolutely brilliant!”

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail revolves around UPSC aspirants and is based on real-life experiences. It draws from the gritty struggles of millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. Earlier, the film also received appreciation from Kamal Haasan, Rishabh Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Farhan Akhtar, and Anil Kapoor, among others.

After 12th Fail success, Vikrant will be seen headlining a new project titled The Sabarmati Report. He will be seen sharing screen space with Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna. It is being made under Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd.

As per a statement, the film is inspired by true events that took place in the Sabarmati Express on the morning of February 27, 2002, near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. The movie is directed by Ranjan Chandel and will be out on May 3, 2024.
