Virat Kohli Steals Show In Florida After India Vs Canada T20 World Cup 2024 Clash Abandoned Due To Wet Outfield

With seven points from four games, India qualify for the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024. Canada finished with three points from four games.

Virat Kohli poses with Canadian players after their T20 World Cup 2024 game gets washed out in Florida.

Florida: India’s final group game in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 against Canada might have been abandoned due to wet outfield but Virat Kohli stole the show as the former India captain spent time with the opposition players and even had a picture with them. Teams like Canada, who are yet to get full member status from ICC, do not get many chances to play top teams like India, Pakistan, Australia and so on. When they get, they do make sure to make the opportunity count.

The weather in Florida has been severe in the past week. Starting from flash floods to torrential rains, a washout was on cards for the India vs Canada game. In fact, USA’s game against Ireland was also abandoned due to rain the previous day. The Pakistan vs Ireland game is also at the same venue.

Although it didn’t rain on Saturday when both teams are on the ground for the game, the wet outfield couldn’t be dried up despite putting big hair driers into play. While most of the Indian players spent the time playing football, Kohli decided to interact with the Canadian players which had several cricketers from Indian origin. He spoke with them before taking a group picture with a bunch of five to six players.

Certainly, the Canadian players were overwhelmed as they got a chance to interact with Kohli. Earlier, the umpires decided to abandon the match after an inspection at 11.30 AM local time (9 PM IST). There were initial inspection held at 10 AM local time (7.30 PM IST) and 10.30 AM local time (8 PM IST).
