Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is starting to enjoy his little feud with the music at the Phoenix Suns’ arena.
Things began on Nov. 22 following a 123-115 loss in Phoenix. While speaking to reporters after the game, Kerr briefly trailed off into a tangent about the volume of the music inside the arena, comparing it to “a South Beach club.”
“What are we doing?” Kerr said. “I’m being dead serious. I couldn’t hear anything out there. It’s just the whole game, it’s thumping techno club music. Can we just have a basketball game anymore? What the hell?”

Suns DJ Chris Villa then got back at the Dubs coach with a trolling remix of “Satisfaction” by Benny Benassi. While performing at center court on Friday, the DJ mixed Kerr’s comments about the arena’s music volume with the song, chopping up the section where the coach says “thumping techno club music.”
Kerr might have been annoyed last month but was in much better spirits about the response. The Golden State coach told reporters in Phoenix on Monday that he had “about 100 people” message him about the remix, which he really seemed to enjoy.
“I think it’s hilarious,” he said. “I love it. We’re in the entertainment business and stuff like that is great. … I may have to respond with something of my own. We’ll see what that is.”

Kerr added that he expects “even more techno, even louder” and that the Warriors “may not be able to actually even hold a timeout.”
It’ll certainly be interesting to see what the Suns arena will sound like when the Dubs take the floor in Phoenix on Tuesday, but perhaps even more interesting will be what Kerr does in response. It’d be far-fetched to assume the 58-year-old will be making his DJ’ing debut, but given that that’s the realm where the Suns’ response happened, it can’t totally be ruled out.
