Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan made a brilliant comeback to red-ball cricket with an 86-ball century, and he reached the landmark with an astonishing one-handed six.
Batting against Madhya Pradesh in the Buchi Babu tournament on the second day of the match on Friday, the Jharkhand skipper led from the front and scored an attacking 114 off 107 balls, which included 10 sixes and 5 fours.
One of the most eye-catching shots off the left-hander’s bat, a video clip of which went viral on social media, was when he jumped out of his crease against spinner Adheer Pratap Singh and despite not being entirely to the pitch of the ball, Ishan went ahead with the shot and ended up hitting a one-handed six between long-off and mid-wicket.

With the two-Test home series against Bangladesh coming up next month, Ishan’s knock couldn’t have come at a better time to put his name in the mix for selection.
Earlier in the match, Madhya Pradesh were bundled out for 225.
Ishan has also been named in the Duleep Trophy Team D squad to be led by Shreyas Iyer.
Earlier this year, BCCI did not include Ishan in its annual central contracts after he ignored board’s directive to participate in domestic cricket.
In a recent interview with TOI, BCCI secretary Jay Shah reiterated the fact that players have to play domestic cricket whenever they are not on national duty in order to be eligible for selection.
“He will have to follow the rules. He will have to play domestic cricket,” Shah told TOI.
