WHAT’S ON THE FEDERAL PARLIAMENT AGENDA

* Parliament House remains under COVID-19 restrictions with no public access and limited staff in the building

* The House of Representatives and Senate sit for four days from Monday

* The House will sit for four days the following week while Senate estimates hearings are held

* Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Labor leader Anthony Albanese will be in the chamber in person

* Labor deputy leader Richard Marles is isolated after visiting an exposure site in Victoria on October 7

* On Monday, two new senators will be sworn in – Dorinda Cox representing WA for the Greens, and Karen Grogan representing SA for Labor.

* The Senate is also expected to endorse WA Liberal senator Slade Brockman as the new president, replacing Scott Ryan

* The coalition wants to focus on how its “new energy” policy will create jobs and its success in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic

* Labor will be zeroing in on government inaction on climate policy and pork-barrelling of regional seats through grant funding

* On Monday, the Greens will lodge a concurrence motion in the Senate, which could ultimately force the House to vote on the Greens’ National Integrity Commission Bill, which passed the Senate more than two years ago

* In the lower house on Monday, independent Andrew Wilkie will present a bill to clean up political donations and independent Zali Steggall will seek to legislate a Climate Change Commission and national adaptation and mitigation framework

* A Senate inquiry report is due on Monday into the destruction of 46,000-year-old caves at the Juukan Gorge in the Pilbara region of WA

* Reports are also expected on COVID-19’s impact on the aviation sector, and the government’s response to drought
