Could Herbie be the most overrated movie car?

There have been some pretty awesome movie cars in the history of cinema, heck it was James Bond’s Aston Martin in “Die Another Day” that sparked my love for everything on four wheels. Not every movie motor has been so iconic though, and some have managed to stand the test of time despite actually being pretty rubbish.

Today, we want to celebrate those automotive atrocities immortalized in film. Today, we’re asking you for your picks of the most overrated movie cars of all time. So, what have you got?

Maybe you disagree with my love for Bond’s Vanquish and think a car that is able to turn invisible, can shoot rockets from its grille and can even drive on ice is all too far fetched for you. Or you might think the creations dreamed up in ‘Mad Max’ aren’t automotive art and are instead just a hodgepodge of mundane motors hoping that quantity will outshine quality. Whichever way you’re swinging we’d love to hear.

Personally, I’d opt for something like Herbie, the Love Bug. I just don’t get the Volkswagen Beetle love and have always been a little opposed to cars that control their drivers. On top of that, I never really got on board with the films, neither the 60s original nor the Lindsay Lohan reboot that’s now, brace yourself, almost 20-years-old.

But that’s just my suggestion, what cinematic car do you think deserves a place on this list? Head to the comments section below to let us know your picks for the most overrated movie cars of all time. We’ll round up some of the best suggestions in a slideshow next week.
