New Delhi: Mark Zuckerberg announced today that WhatsApp will now have the ability to instantly record and share video messages in chats. According to Meta founder and CEO, sending a video message is as easy as sending a quick voice message. WhatsApp stated that video messages allow users to respond in real-time with 60 seconds of video content to express whatever they want to say or show. The company believes this feature will be a fun way to share moments with all the emotion that comes from video, such as birthday wishes, laughing at jokes, or sharing good news.
To send a video message, simply tap to switch to video mode and hold to start recording. Users can also swipe up to lock and record hands-free. When opened in a chat, video messages will play automatically on mute, and tapping on the video will enable sound. WhatsApp ensures that video messages are protected with end-to-end encryption for message security.
WhatsApp has begun rolling out the video message feature, and it will be available to all users in the coming weeks. This feature streamlines the process of sending videos, making it quicker and more convenient. It is already available on WhatsApp for both iOS and Android.
