The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a new photo of Prince George to mark his eighth birthday.
The special snap shows the future king sitting on the bonnet of a car while flashing a beaming smile.
The photo was taken by the Duchess, who has made it a royal tradition to take and share photos of her three children on their birthdays.
George is sitting on a Land Rover – Prince Philip’s favourite car – in a subtle nod to his late grandfather.
As he gets older, Prince George has been making more public appearances with his parents.
Most recently, the young royal appeared with mum and dad for two prominent soccer matches in England during the Euro Final earlier this month.
Royal watchers were quick to notice the future Kings were wearing matching suits and ties for a game between England and Germany at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The Cambridge’s are likely to be tucking into a delicious homemade cake to mark George’s birthday.
Kate Middleton revealed in 2019 that every year she waits until George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis go to bed, and then begins her annual mission of baking them her own birthday cake.
“It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ‘til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much,” she revealed to British baking legend Mary Berry on TV special A Berry Royal Christmas.
“But I love it.”
