How was it working with Hrithik for the first time?
The first time I got an opportunity to work with him was in Mission Kashmir where my introduction to Hrithik was when we were showcasing a song.We were prepping and he was so excited to see the song. Generally, actors just walk by, but to see a star like Hrithik run excitedly is an image that has stayed with me. The kind of excitement and glory that he brings to dancing, is unbelievable.I’ve realized that he makes any move look so cool. And even if it is simple or complicated, he just owns it. His knowledge about himself and his body, and the way he wants to showcase his dance is commendable. I think he’s eleven out of ten!

The way he is dancing at 50 is remarkable!
Absolutely. With the body like his, and the dancing skills that he showcases, he is just timeless. I have always believed that age is just number but he really, truly makes it look like that.
How does he work on his dance?
With Hrithik, our connection has become so strong, that we know what looks good on him. So, inherently when we are doing the moves, we know that this is a Hrithik Roshan move. He adds magic to our moves, and puts in a lot of hard work. When he dances, you just see that this man is enjoying his dancing and owning the stage.
Going back, for Mission Kashmir, we had some cool footwork that we did with him. Then, there was a song in Lakshya we did with him called Kandhon Se Milte Hain Kandhe, where we didn’t have to do any dancing moves with him. He just stayed with his character.
Take us through some anecdotes on Hrithik…
I think people thought that it was special effects when we did a cossack move with Hrithik recently, but it was all his hard work. He knows his body type so well. We have our good and not-so-good moments, but we bring out the best in each other. With Hrithik, there’s a certain amount of pressure because the whole country imitates him.
Does he ever put pressure on you that he wants to do the best?
Not at all. Hrithik rejoices in his dancing. He does not ever come across as “I want to be the best”. He just wants to have a ball while dancing, which I think is great!
