A professional cleaner from Melbourne has shared a little-known detail about many supermarket disinfectant sprays that you probably had no idea about.

The cleaner said that many people don’t realise that some popular disinfectant sprays need to be left on a dirty surfaces for 10 minutes for it to be effective in cleaning germs.
Instead, many wipe away the disinfectant moments after it’s been sprayed on.
She claims the little-known information can be found on the back of supermarket cleaning buys.
“So you think you’re a clean freak?” the TikTok user said.
“But here’s a hard truth from a professional cleaner.
“Just because you’re using a disinfectant spray, does not mean you’re disinfecting anything. (You need to read the labels).
“These supermarket sprays need to be left on a surface for 10 whole minutes to kill any germs.”
Many TikTok users were blown away by the information.
“I’m shook,” said one user.
Said another: “OMG I have never read the label!”
Added a third: “So you’re telling me … my toilet I cleaned thoroughly today is still dirty?”
Wrote one more: “Ohhhhh I didn’t know that, I’ve always wiped it straight off.”
But others said they always leave the sprays to work their magic.
“OMG so many people don’t do this and it grates me!” said one. “You can’t just apply and wipe! You gotta let the product do its work first.”
