Woolworths supermarket shopper speechless over wild find in lamb buy: ‘Not cool’

A Woolworths customer has been left stunned by an unbelievable find inside a popular meat buy.

Sharing on Facebook, the Sydney shopper was frustrated to open up a pack of Woolworths brand Souvlaki Style Lamb Strips and make an alarming discovery inside.

A photograph shared by the woman shows that instead of receiving pieces of marinated of lamb, there was a large sheet of sinew and fat in the pack instead.

In her online post, the customer said the unsettling discovery gave her the “Sunday scaries”.

“Not cool Woolies!” the customer wrote.

“In the midst of a cost of living crisis and I get to feed my family with this? Where’s your quality control?

“I guess this is another meal I have to pad out with even more veggies.

“Opening this packet gave me the Sunday scaries.”

Woolworths responds

Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au, a Woolworths spokesperson said the supermarket was concerned by the shopper’s experience.

“We pride ourselves on providing high-quality meat cuts to our customers and we’re disappointed to see this,” the spokesperson said.

“If our customers are ever disappointed with the quality of our fresh meat, we encourage them to return it to their local store to receive a replacement or a refund.”

7NEWS.com.au understands that Woolworths is following up with the customer in question so they can investigate the matter further with the supermarket’s meat production partner.
