Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme off-road motorcycle revealed: Gets twin-cylinder engine with 72 hp power

Yamaha has revealed the new Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme. The Tenere 700 Extreme is essentially a more off-road-focused version of the Tenere 700. The bike has been unveiled for Global markets and the bike and comes with several mechanical and cosmetic updates to make it more capable than the regular Tenere.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme offers 20mm extra suspension travel at both ends and the 43 mm front forks get Kashima coating. The Kashima coating is a layer of lubrication in the aluminium of the forks and the company says that it reduces friction and ensures durability. The Tenere 700 Extreme also has an extremely tall seat height of 910mm and offers a ground clearance of 260mm.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 also comes with titanium footpegs and the company says it offers 35 per cent more surface area. It also gets an aluminium radiator protector and a single-piece seat setup. In terms of features, the bike gets an enduro-style front fender, a five-inch TFT display that includes a Rally-style display, navigation and other features.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 is powered by the same 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine with a cross-plane crankshaft which puts out 72 hp of power and 68 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
