Yuzvendra Chahal Shares Insights on Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Ongoing IPL Trophy Wait

India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal recently shared his frustration about not being retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the 2022 IPL mega auction. Chahal revealed that he felt really bad as there was no communication from the management despite playing for the franchise for eight years. He also opened up on why RCB has been unable to win an IPL trophy.

Chahal, who had been a key player for RCB since the 2014 edition, expressed his disappointment during a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. He stated that even he doesn’t know why RCB has struggled over the years in the IPL. He mentioned that their best opportunity was in 2016 when they reached the final but were unable to secure the victory.

When asked about not being retained by RCB, Chahal admitted feeling sad. Having spent eight years with the team, he considered RCB to be like family. He clarified that the rumors of him demanding a large sum of money were false and expressed his disappointment in the lack of communication from the team. Chahal also mentioned his anger when he wasn’t picked in the auction after the team had promised to go all-out for him.

The 32-year-old spinner, who holds the record for the most wickets in the IPL, acknowledged that his move to Rajasthan Royals had helped him become a better bowler. He mentioned that his role at RR included bowling in the death overs, which he didn’t have the opportunity to do at RCB.

Chahal concluded by accepting that the auction is unpredictable and he has made peace with whatever happened. He believes that his time at RR allowed him to grow as a cricketer and that everything happened for the best.
