Zendaya Delivers a New Take on Old Hollywood Glamour at the 2024 Oscars

Zendaya is no stranger to shutting down a red carpet—let alone the Oscars red carpet. Over the years, the Dune star has brought a number of stellar fashion moments to the step and repeat (including her fabulous cropped white shirt and sequined skirt by Valentino in 2022). At tonight’s 96th Academy Awards, then, you could say there was pressure for her and stylist Law Roach to deliver a look that was good—and the duo certainly didn’t disappoint.

Dressed in Armani Privé, the star brought Old Hollywood glamour to the occasion. Her rose silk dress featured an asymmetrical roped shoulder strap, and was covered in an embroidered palm tree motif—the bodice embellished in gunmetal paillettes. The unexpected combination of materials—call it a mishmash of luxury—is precisely why the design felt retro, yet modern.

For a more classic evening appeal, however, Zendaya accessorized with glitzy Bulgari jewels (she is, after all, a face of the house.) The star chose a pair of high jewelry earrings in pink pink gold, punctuated with marquise diamonds, tourmalines, morganites, mandarin garnets, and pavé-set diamonds. She also sported a high jewelry bracelet in pink gold—with even more diamonds—as well as a high jewelry ring in pink gold (sensing a theme?) with more precious gems. All together, it proved, once again, that Zendaya and Law are the fashion gift that just keeps on giving.
