Vikrant Massey starrer ‘12th Fail’ witnessed a rise in collection over the weekend, but has been seeing a dip through the week. The film has been earning decent numbers, gaining praise with word of mouth publicity.
In six days, ‘12th Fail’ earned around Rs 11.74 crore nett at the domestic box office On Thursday, the film witnessed an occupancy of 12.70 per cent and added Rs 1.40 crore to its total, which stands at Rs 13.14 crore nett, reports Sacnilk.ThisVidhu Vinod Chopra directorial was released alongside Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tejas’. While ‘12th Fail’ has managed to stay afloat, ‘Tejas’ has seen a huge dip in numbers, having scored only Rs 5.15 crore in six days.
Speaking about this ambitious project, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had told ETimes, “I started this film when I was 66 years old. I am 71 now. Just imagine. Which producer or filmmaker in his right mind would say, I want to spend 4.5 years of my life making 12th Fail with Vikrant Massey? Who would not want to make a Munnabhai 3 or a 3 Idiots sequel? This is a very important film in today’s times. Never in my life have I told people to go watch my film. It’s not because of money. I have not sold it to any OTT platform yet. It’s just me and my film. It’s my money so I am not answerable to anyone. I am telling you that I am living my life in cinema. Cinema and my life are the same, there’s no contradiction.”
