2024 Fantic Caballero 500 unveiled globally: Triumph Scrambler 400X rival arriving in India?

The scrambler segment is heating up globally, and Italian marque Fantic has thrown its hat in the ring with the updated 2024 Caballero 500. Currently, the mid-capacity scrambler category in India includes the Scrambler 400X, alongside Royal Enfield Scram 411 and Yezdi Scrambler.
The Italian motorcycle has retained almost every aspect in terms of designing from the previous model.However, the swingarm is now made from aluminum to enhance both lightness (lighter by 2 kgs) and stiffness. The motorcycle features the same retro design, now getting a round LED headlight, equipped with 24 LEDs. The 2024 version is available in three variants namely, Rally, Explorer, and Deluxe. Furthermore, the tail lamp and turn signals also make use of LED lighting.

Speaking of the engine, the manufacturer has introduced a new engine map, resulting in improved throttle response and smoother performance. Besides this upgrade, the engine itself remains the same – a 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that delivers 40 hp and 43 Nm of peak torque.
While Triumph’s Scrambler 400X, a potent global rival of the Caballero 500, recently debuted in India, will the Caballero dare to cross continents and enter the less-populated segment on our shores? Well, the manufacturer has no plans to enter the largest two-wheeler market in the world anytime soon. Nevertheless, Fantic is yet to reveal the price of the motorcycle.
