2024 Force Gurkha 5-door revealed: Design, features, specifications, booking details and more

Homegrown automaker Force Motors has finally revealed the Force Gurkha 5-door SUV. Along with it, the company has also updated the 3-door version of the SUV. The prices for both models will be announced in the first week of May 2024 and delivery is expected to begin from mid-May. Bookings have commenced from today, interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest dealership, the amount is set at Rs 25,000.

In terms of design, the updated Gurkha looks very similar to the old model but with minor changes on the outside and inside.The five-door version too looks similar to the three-door variant but gets an extra set of doors in the back. The SUV features 233 mm of ground clearance, 35-degree gradability, 700-mm water wading capacity and the new model additionally boasts newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels.

A few exterior highlights include a single-slat grille with Gurkha lettering, fender-mounted turn indicators, circular LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lights with cornering function, snorkel, roof rack, chunky wheel arches, blacked-out door handles, vertically-stacked taillights, integrated ladder, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and a tow hook.

In terms of dimensions, the Gurkha 3-door measures 3,965 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 2,080 mm in height, wheelbase of 2,400 mm and has a turning radius of 5.5 m. The 5-door measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 2,095 mm in height, wheelbase of 2,825 mm and has a turning radius of 6.3 m.

Moving inside, both variants get the same dashboard layout but now it gets a nine-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, manual AC with roof-mounted rear vents, all four power windows, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, and a shift-on-fly 4×4 system. The 5-door Gurkha gets bench seats for the second row and captain seats in the third row.

The Gurkha is powered by the same Mercedes-derived FM2.6 CR, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine. The engine has now been re-tuned to produce 138 bhp of power and 320 nm torque. It comes paired only with a 5-speed manual and it also gets a 4×4 as standard with a low-range transfer case along with manually locking front and rear differentials.

Customers can choose from four colours – Green, Red, White, and Black and Force Motors is offering the Gurkha with a 3-year / 1.5 lakh km warranty, 4 free services and 1-year free roadside assistance.
