2024 India-Spec Hyundai Creta: 2024 India-spec Hyundai Creta vs 2023 Global-spec Creta facelift: Key changes

Ever since its launch, the Creta, Hyundai’s first compact SUV in India, has been a force to reckon with in the segment until other competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon arrived and changed the dynamics. In fact, considering the popularity of the segment in the Indian market, several manufacturers, including both global and home-grown, have started to tap in the space and have been aggressively expanding their portfolios.
That said, the South Korean manufacturer is gearing up to launch the third-gen Creta in India on January 16 and has already revealed the updated SUV. With the model set to be launched in the coming days, let’s compare what changes Hyundai has made to the SUV in comparison to the 2023 Creta Facelift, which was launched in some global markets, including that of Malaysia and Indonesia.
2024 India-spec Creta Facelift vs Global-spec 2023 Creta: Exterior

One of the biggest highlights of the cosmetic changes introduced with the 2024 Creta includes a fresh front fascia, featuring a bolder, boxier grille compared to the global facelift’s sleeker, parametric jewel-inspired design – something that we have also seen in some models in the Indian portfolio.
While the international-spec Facelift model gets a Tucson-inspired front, boasting LED DRLs concealed in the grille, the upcoming model in India will come with a connected LED light bar both in front and rear. Both models get vertically-stacked LED headlamps but with design changes. Furthermore, the front bumper is also distinctive with the latter featuring boxy details.

Moving to the rear, the 2024 Creta has been revised to mirror its updated front. This includes the addition of a connected LED tail lamp setup that aligns with the light signature of the new LED DRLs along with an updated, sleeker bumper design. In contrast, the rear of the updated Creta in other markets remains largely unchanged when compared to the pre-facelift model.

Inside the India-spec Creta, one of the biggest highlights is the new 10.25-inch infotainment screen that replaces the 7-inch TFT available in the global-spec model. Both cars, however, get fully-digital 10.25 inch instrument clusters. This modern touch has enhanced the cabin’s tech quotient.
The central HVAC control panel in the India-spec Creta gets physical buttons, including two rotary dials and toggle switches. It also features shortcut buttons for media and navigation functions. The AC vent design has also been revamped.

While the Creta is sold in either of the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines or both in the international markets, the updated 2024 Creta in India will get a brand new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit sourced from the new-gen Verna.
