2024 Maruti Swift: Design
In terms of design, the new Swift does look different from its predecessor but it’s not radically different in terms of silhouette or basic appearance. There is a lot of similarity but when you get up close with the car, you can see it is a lot different. It gets a new front end with a re-designed front bumper and a new grille with chunky black surrounds. It also features re-designed smoked LED headlamps with DRLs and the clamshell bonnet is a lot shallower. Below it gets the revised fog lamp housing with a splitter.

Moving rear, the hatch features new LED tail lamps with C-shaped DRLs and reflectors below. It gets a re-designed tailgate, and a new bumper and the creases are more pronounced to give it a bit of a sporty effect. The design is in such a way that it accentuates the feel of the car being wide. So that gives the car a bit of a sporty profile. Overall, with all of these changes, the new Swift continues to look sporty and nice.
2024 Maruti Swift: Interior and features
Once you step inside the cabin, there is a lot that has changed and it’s very different from the outgoing Swift. The interior takes inspiration from Baleno and Fronx and it gets a new dashboard layout with a floating infotainment system with sleek AC vents and HVAC controls below. The highlight of the interior is the 9.0-inch floating infotainment system which blends well with the dashboard.

Talking about the backseat, well, the new Swift is a spacious car when you look at it from a segment perspective, it gives you a good amount of space inside you’ve got a decent amount of legroom, knee room, shoulder room and the backrest angle is also decent.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: How does it drive
The Swift has always been this car that has been known for delivering the joy of driving. The new Swift gets a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine with lesser power with more fuel efficiency. Has the Swift lost its DNA? We’ve driven it and let us tell you, fortunately, not. We wouldn’t say that it is better than the earliest Swift in terms of driving joy. But we can confirm that it hasn’t lost that DNA.

The new engine puts out 82 hp of power and 112 nm of torque. In comparison, the previous model produced 90 hp and 113 nm, a drop of 8 hp and 1 Nm. With lesser power, it doesn’t mean that it’s slower, it accelerates quicker and you need to understand that this new 1.2-litre engine is tuned for fuel efficiency and is super fuel efficient. But the key point is the driving fun.

The car accelerates quickly when you’re pushing it hard, but when you’re driving it normally you feel that it isn’t that powerful because it needs to be revved hard and the engine takes a bit of time to catch up. In this way, it takes away a bit from the driving fun, but it’s something also not to the point that you will completely lose the plot because you will tune or adapt your driving style to it.

At the end of the day, the new Swift is quick, but you have to adapt and train yourself to be able to drive it quickly. Talking about the driving dynamics the new Swift hasn’t lost that go-kart feeling that it has always been known for. We also drove it around custom-made short circuits and the suspension, handling, the stability of this car are just phenomenal.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Conclusion
The new Swift has improved a lot in every department, except the powertrain. We wouldn’t say it’s a demotion but it has deviated mildly from the path that we know the Swift has always been on. Nonetheless, it’s a quick car, it’s a fun car to drive, it’s now more feature-loaded, it is more convenient and it is more comfortable.
