For the 49ers, revenge is a dish best served at midfield.

The Niners crushed the Seahawks 31-13 in Seattle on Thanksgiving night, then had an absolute delight feasting on NBC’s Thanksgiving spread — getting a chance to mirror what the Seahawks infamously did to the 49ers on their home field nearly a decade ago.

While NBC awarded player of the game honors to Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey and Charvarius Ward, the trio was also joined by Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Fred Warner and Nick Bosa.

There were plenty of comedic moments, with Kittle providing the most laughs when he brought the entire turkey back to the locker room. But before getting up the tunnel, Kittle decided to throw a turkey leg into the stands — only for it to fall back down on the ground. Kittle stopped, picked the leg up and threw it into the crowd again.

Samuel also tossed a turkey leg into the stands, and NBC’s cameras caught a 49ers fan chowing down on one of the turkey legs thrown up into the crowd.

Kittle also had the most direct quip in the postgame interview. When asked by NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark if this “felt like your Thanksgiving table at home,” Kittle responded affirmatively — and fired a shot, too.

“I’m eating turkey with my best friends, basically my family,” Kittle said. “Where else would I rather be than here, at Seattle’s home field, eating turkey legs on Thanksgiving? Nothing like it.”

Bosa initially wasn’t with the group but joined in late to applause. When Stark told Bosa to feast, the extremely fit defensive lineman declined.

“Food is the last thing I want after a game,” Bosa said. “No carbs, only meat.”

The entire feast gave 49ers fans a sense of karmic justice, served nearly a decade after the red and gold’s last Thanksgiving game in 2014, when the Seahawks beat the Niners 19-3. The postgame feast featuring Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman took place on the 49ers’ midfield logo (something Sherman later claimed came at the request of NBC).

That moment clearly has still irked many in the Bay Area, including former 49ers left tackle Joe Staley. As the game was ending, Staley wrote, “Niners better eat this turkey on the Seahawks logo tonight,” in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It wasn’t clear exactly where NBC set up the table for the feast, though it didn’t appear to be at midfield. But given the fun that was had and the thorough victory to take command of the NFC West, 49ers fans are probably not going to care about the exact location.
