There are only six races left before the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs begin. Race victories are becoming increasingly important for drivers who don’t have enough points to secure a playoff spot, like Chase Elliott from Hendrick Motorsports. The 2020 champion has five top-five finishes this season but missed six races due to a leg injury from a snowboarding accident and was suspended for one race after intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin. Elliott needs to win to make the playoffs.
