A Second Car Mysteriously Lands on the Second Story of a House

If you’re planning on crashing a car into the second story of a house, you’d think you’d choose a high-performance car, maybe even one with some modifications to make it stand out. A 1,000-hp A80 Toyota Supra or a Mustang would make sense for such a stunt. However, in recent incidents where cars crashed into buildings, they’ve oddly been ordinary, everyday cars.

For instance, there was a Nissan Altima in Santa Ana, California, and a Subaru Outback in Placer County, California. This time, it’s a Toyota Corolla in Decatur Township, Pennsylvania. At least it didn’t happen in California this time. According to ABC27, the driver was the only person injured in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Surprisingly, the incident occurred in the middle of the afternoon and not late at night.

The fire crew that responded to the accident believes that the Corolla hit a culvert next to the driveway, propelling it into the second floor of the house. The exact speed at the time of the crash is still unknown. It is possible that the driver was not driving particularly fast, and it was simply a freak accident. However, considering the relatively slow nature of that generation of Corolla, we have our doubts.

Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating the incident, so more information may emerge soon. Meanwhile, rescue crews were able to stabilize the house and cover the hole with a tarp. Unfortunately for the homeowners, even with insurance coverage, the damage is unlikely to be fixed quickly.
