PhonePe has launched a new celebrity voice feature in collaboration with the actor Amitabh Bachchan, exclusively for its SmartSpeakers. With this new feature, PhonePe SmartSpeakers all over India can verify customer payments using Bachchan‘s distinctive voice.
This celebrity voice feature is currently available in Hindi and English, with plans to expand it to other languages.
The PhonePe SmartSpeaker was launched a year ago, and it has since gained immense popularity among merchant partners across 19,000 postal codes, which covers over 90% of the country, said the company. According to PhonePe, the SmartSpeakers have validated 100 crore transactions across the country.
PhonePe SmartSpeakers have a compact and versatile form factor that allows merchants to use them even in congested counter spaces. The SmartSpeakers provide voice payment notifications in multiple Indian languages, with up to four days of battery life, dedicated data connectivity, a dedicated battery level LED indicator for ease of use, audio alerts for low battery levels, and a dedicated replay button for the last transaction.
“The addition of a celebrity voice, featuring Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, will enhance the payment experience for both merchants and customers, making it more interactive than ever before,” the company said.
As a merchant, you can enable the new feature on your PhonePe for Business app. Follow these simple steps to enable the celebrity voice.
1. Open the PhonePe for Business app.
2. Go to the SmartSpeaker section on the home screen.
3. Under ‘My SmartSpeaker’, click on ‘SmartSpeaker Voice’.
4. Choose Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in your preferred language.
5. Click on ‘Confirm’ to activate the voice.
6. Your device will be rebooted with the updated language in Bachchan’s voice within a few hours.
