Annabelle Dexter-Jones Has Been Gatekeeping This Upper East Side Pharmacy

Welcome to Shopping With Vogue, a series where people with top-tier personal style bring us along as they look to add to their impressive wardrobes.

Annabelle Dexter-Jones has found a happy place in a pharmacy. But don’t expect a fluorescent-lit CVS. The actor has been frequenting the glamorous Zitomer Pharmacy—whose black-and-white tiled floors and surplus of gold mirrored surfaces looks straight out of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel—since she was in pre-school. “I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. I get very inspired when I’m here,” she says, gesturing to a row of plushie Yorkies holding purses that say “Chewy Vuitton.”

The actor, who starred as Naomi Pierce in Succession, and is sharing the screen with Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts in American Horror Story: Delicate Part Two, takes Vogue on a tour of the sprawling Upper East Side pharmacy packed with blackcurrant pastilles, floral swim caps, and the Hanky Panky thongs of her youth.

We can’t blame her for being protective of her lifelong spot, especially when she feels a scarcity of resources. Particularly, she’s worried about the supply of Walker Valentine products: makeup bags, tissue boxes, and catch-alls branded with the same bow motif. Dexter-Jones estimates that she owns around 15 pieces. “I was like, Do I reveal this? But most people want don’t them, I realized,” she says laughing. “But they’re important to me.” Today, she’s got her heart set on a tissue box, vacillating between sky blue and black. “The stakes feel extremely high,” she says.

Dexter-Jones is also perusing the hair accessories, as she heads toward “No Man’s Land,” the space between a pixie and a bob. The pearl headbands may not be her jam today, but she’s got her eye on some fabulous headwear. “’Scuse me miss, I’m just going to borrow your hat,” she tells a beret-clad mannequin. “I had a real French phase. Really liked France. ’Ow do you zay, uh, beret?

The actor, who describes herself as an impulsive shopper, is working on restraint in her Zitomer trips. “Sometimes I get, like, overwhelmed and I just have to walk out with nothing,” she says. “But it’s not like you’re walking out with nothing because you still have the joyful experience.” Luckily, though, today is not one of those days, and Annabelle Dexter-Jones leaves Zitomer with an armful of goods.
