The new Vantage is powered by the same Mercedes-AMG derived 4.0-litre twin turbo V8.The engine now puts out 665 hp of power and 800 nm of torque and comes paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. Aston Martin claims that the new Vantage can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 325 kph.
For reference, the previous V8 car produced 510hp of power and 685Nm of torque required half a second more for the 0-100kph sprint and had a top speed of 313kph. The power bump is the result of an “extensive” tuning programme. The engine receives new cam profiles, tweaked compression ratios, improved cooling with a new and lower radiator two extra auxiliary coolers and also bigger twin turbos.
Moving Inside, the Vantage gets a new dashboard layout similar to the DB12. It has modern design elements with physical controls for major functions. Highlights include sleek AC vents, bucket seats, and contrasting yellow stitching on the doors.
In terms of features, it gets twin 10.25-inch screens for touchscreen infotainment and instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, and a premium 15-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system, 3D live mapping, wireless smartphone mirroring, connected car tech and ADAS suite with functions such as forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking traffic sign recognition and more.
