Ather Rizta family electric scooter launched at Rs 1.10 lakh: 160 km range, 80 kmph top speed

Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Ather Energy has finally launched its much-awaited family electric scooter, the Rizta, at a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The Rizta will be offered with two battery options in three variants – Rizta S and Rizta Z with a 2.9 kWh battery, and a top-end model Rizta Z with a 3.7 kWh battery.
As the scooter is much more practical compared to its 450 series siblings, it does away with its sharp, aerodynamic design and gets a rather boxy look.It features a sleek, rectangular LED headlamp unit upfront and a thin light bar complements the look from the rear side.
The base-spec Rizta S is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh. For those seeking additional features and colour options, the Rizta Z variant comes at a higher price of Rs 1.25 lakh. Furthermore, the top-end Rizta Z is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The manufacturer claims a range of 123 km for the 2.9 kWh pack Rizta, with a real-world range of 105 km. For the 3.7 kWh unit, the claimed range is 160 km, with a real-world range of 125 km. The claimed top speed for all the variants is 80 kmph.

Additionally, the Rizta S comes in three monotone colors, while the Rizta Z is available in seven colors, including three monotone and four dual-tone options. Further, this EV gets two riding modes as standard – Zip and SmartEco. In terms of safety, the Rizta gets several features such as a traction control system, a skid control system, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), theft & tow Detect, and more. Ride assist features such as Magic Twist (first introduced in the 450 Apex), auto hold , and reverse mode are also present. Also, the base-spec model gets a 7-inch LCD display while the other two get a 7-inch TFT displays.
Other notable features include a 56-litre storage space, including a 34-litre underseat boot and an optional 22-litre frunk accessory. As per the company, the Rizta comes with the largest storage capacity in the Indian scooter market. Users can also opt to equip the underseat storage with an optional multi-purpose charger with an 18W power output.
Alongside the scooter launch, Ather also introduced the Halo helmets, including the Halo Bit priced at Rs 4,999 and the Halo at Rs 14,999, with a Rs 2,000 discount available for pre-orders.
