Audi Q6 E-Tron Prototype Officially Unveiled, Introducing Second-Gen Digital OLED Technology

Audi is working to unveil the all-electric Q6 e-tron in the international market. The luxury car maker recently revealed the first official pictures of the Q6 e-tron prototype, which will be positioned below the Audi Q8 e-tron.

The second-generation digital OLED rear lights of the Audi Q6 e-tron will have intelligent displays that can communicate with other road users by displaying information via the exterior lights. The active digital light signature is another notable feature that will be introduced in the Q6 e-Tron, says Audi.

Audi Q6 e-tron will get eight optional digital light signatures in the redesigned daytime running lights in the Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights 2.0. This functionality will work through the MMI or via the myAudi app. Customers can only buy digital light signatures after purchasing a car. They can select digital light signatures for digital DRLs in the Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights or book the same on demand.

The luxury car maker says that this technology aims to improve road safety with a ‘communication light’ which will show a triangular red warning symbol with hazard lights to inform other drivers about the obstructions detected via Audi’s cloud-based road monitoring system.

Audi Q6 e-tron: Powertrain
Based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, the Audi Q6 e-tron will be available in Standard and Sport variants. Powering the Q6 e-tron will be a 100 kWh battery and two electric motors, generating a power of 375 hp -396 hp (Standard) and 483 hp – 510 hp (Sport). Equipped with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive technology, the Audi Q6 e-tron will offer a range of up to 600 km, as per the WLTP cycle. The Sport variant does 0-100 kmph in under 5 seconds.
