Billie Eilish Paired a Baseball Cap With a Hair Ribbon and It Somehow Totally Works — See Photos

Perhaps it’s because it makes people think of Christmas presents, but this year’s hair ribbon and bow trend has really been coming to a head (no pun intended) as we get into the thick of the holiday season. Emma Watson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and Apple Martin, Selena Gomez — celebrities are really loving this look. But leave it to Billie Eilish to put the most interesting and surprising spin on it yet.

Eilish paid a visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, December 14, to talk about her newly Golden Globe-nominated song “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, a new album on the horizon, and what will undoubtedly be an amazing Saturday Night Live this weekend when she serves as musical guest to host Kate McKinnon. Her outfit was very Billie Eilish, with oversized everything: plaid sweater vest, white tee, and jorts. But it’s how she topped it all off that struck an especially cool, unexpected balance.

Eilish wore a navy blue baseball cap with a red brim and trim, and it was embroidered in pink and white with the Barbie logo. Like so many of us do when wearing a baseball hat, she wore a low ponytail. And in a fun moment of tomboy-meets-girly-girl, instead of a simple hair elastic, the ponytail is tied off with a long, pink ribbon that perfectly matches her vest.
