BMW: BMW to launch 19 new vehicles in India in ’24: Best-ever sales in 2023 with EV leadership

BMW Group India has revealed its sales figures for the recently concluded calendar year 2023 and has shared its roadmap for 2024, which includes the launch of 19 new products in India, encompassing the BMW, Mini, and Motorrad brands. All-new models include 5 series, X3, Mini Countryman, Mini Cooper 3-door hatch and the R 1300 Gs bike.
In 2023, the German automobile maker achieved its highest-ever annual sales for the said brands.Between January and December, the group delivered 14,172 cars (combining BMW and Mini) and 8,768 motorcycles. BMW’s sales reached 13,303 units, while Mini clocked 869 units. Interestingly, the fourth quarter of 2023 witnessed peak performances across all three brands, with BMW selling 4,306 cars, up by 41 percent as compared to the corresponding quarter in 2022. Mini, on the other hand, sold 287, marking a 54 percent growth as Motorrad brand sold 1,990 motorcycles, registering a slight 3 percent YoY growth.

Speaking of the electric vehicle segment, the manufacturer witnessed a three-fold growth, registering 1,474 units. Among the top-selling EVs, the BMW iX stood out as the customer favourite model in India.
BMW India reported a significant growth of 18 percent, reaching 13,303 units, as compared to the number of units sold in 2022. Recently, the BMW 7 Series was recognized as the ‘Premium Car Award 2024’ at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards.
Furthermore, BMW said that the Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) segment contributed 54 percent to the annual sales volume, achieving a record growth of 24 percent. The new X1 emerged as the top-selling SAV, claiming 20 percent of overall sales, while the X7 secured the position of the second-highest deliveries.
In the sedan category, the new BMW 3 Series emerged as the highest-selling model, capturing a significant 20 percent share of sales.
